Boulevard du Sport

Olympic Games, Paris, France, 2000

The development momentum propitiated by the event of the Olympic Games in 2008 presents a unique opportunity for la Plaine Saint-Denis to become an international gate to Paris. The plan for the Boulevard du Sport is designed to stimulate the development of sports infrastructure, convertible over time into general public facilities and to achieve integration of the various ways of transportation (water, road, rail) by means of an inclusive approach. International, regional and metropolitan access points are combined to provide the best circulation profile. The most important attractions along the Boulevard du Sport are interconnected through path and bridge linking networks. These elements create a complex loop system allowing the public to choose various routes and shortcuts, experiencing the site from multiple vantage points.
