As part of the redevelopment of the Hackeschen Hofe, the new gallery and cafe are situated in a lively Jugendstil complex. Inside, concrete panels cover walls, floors and ceilings. In the gallery this sober interior provides a blank canvas for the works that are exhibited. In the cafe, benches of laminated wood and glazed, silk-screened walls are added to the concrete. The benches, tables and cupboards of multiple layers of headers establish a completely new way of working with this material. The green glass, printed with an enlarged computer image of wood structure is applied in front of the concrete walls.
