This year, at the Media Architecture Biennale in Beijing, Wael Sami Batal will present a research paper co-written by Wael, Ben van Berkel and Filippo Lodi.
This paper speculates on the integration of sensory technology in architecture and in the infrastructure of cities.
The objective is to study the potentialities - and effects - of this on society and the built environment through projects at UNStudio.
The focus will be to both explore the intersections between ‘health’ and technology in architecture, and to distinguish a difference between ‘responsive’ versus ‘smart’ cities.
After the conference, the research will be published by ACM.
