The design for the new office premises of NautaDutilh, located in the South Axis area of Amsterdam, has sought to create an office building that goes beyond the standard representation of a typical office tower. Both in the interior and in the design of the exterior opportunities were sought which would offer employees a flexible and healthy working environment: an environment which activates people, facilitates communication and brings the user into contact with their surrounding environment.
The design for the volume of the building is aligned with the built environment planned for the Mahlerlaan and the Beethovenstraat. The facade has a formal appearance on the North and Northeast sides of the building and an informal character on the Southwest side. These two treatments smoothly transform into one another, so that a universal building results without a distinct transformation from front to back.
