UNStudio has officially opened its doors in Melbourne, and now has a full-time team on the ground in Australia, alongside our international offices in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Dubai.
With UNStudio’s design experience in Australia, the Melbourne office allows us to collaborate face-to-face with our clients and partners. With more than a decade in the local market, we will continue to design healthy and sustainable places in the region with lasting impact on communities and people with little impact on the planet, while also providing our full suite of services.

We see an important role for the development of infrastructure here in Australia. UNStudio Officially Opens Full Service Office in Melbourne
UNStudio Melbourne is a full-service office, comprising a team that has worked on numerous projects ranging from feasibility studies and vision pieces to mixed-use, high rises and masterplans. The team in Australia are also working on the STH BNK by Beulah with Cox Architecture to realise the tallest building in the country, which is also set to be fully integrated within Melbourne’s existing network of cultural, entertainment, leisure and commercial venues.
Being part of UNStudio’s united network, the office in Melbourne will cover the Oceanic region. Together, UNStudio’s offices share expertise and exchange knowledge in order to form the best teams for the global projects we work on.
With these new offices in place, Amsterdam will remain the headquarters from which - depending on local demand - projects can be supported with know-how, resources and expert staff.
UNStudio was founded in 1988 under the name of Van Berkel and Bos, with the Amsterdam office opening first, followed by Shanghai in 2008 and Hong Kong in 2014. Our Frankfurt office opened in 2019 and we opened an office in Dubai in 2021.
