UNStudio has joined forces with a consortium of Dutch firms to develop innovation districts and science parks

A consortium of eight international design, consultancy and engineering firms, alongside a developing investor from the Netherlands, will be assisting initiators of innovation areas through the ‘Innovation Area Development Partnership’ (IADP). The partners involved include: Arup, Caudata, Kadans Science Partner, KCAP Architects & Planners, PT Finance, Royal HaskoningDHV, UNStudio and Zjak Consult.

Innovation in business is of key importance for companies as well as for the economy as a whole.  A wide range of companies are seeking interdisciplinary cooperation with research institutions and other companies to realize product innovations and technological breakthroughs. This approach has led to an increasing interest in spatial solutions such as science parks, innovation districts and (industrial) campuses where an environment of co-creation and mutual support can be established.

The development of a well-considered and successful ‘innovation area’ is an intricate process and requires an integral and future-proof interdisciplinary approach by a team of experts. This approach includes careful attention to thorough market analysis, an appealing urban approach, bespoke designed real estate concepts, strong park and campus management and supportive financial solutions. The demand for plans that can fulfil this broad range of requirements is growing globally. IADP offers an integrated approach to provide these solutions.

A collective of IADP partners will be present at the world conference for ‘Science Parks and Innovation Areas’ on September 26th to 29th in Istanbul, Turkey.
