Junior Urban Designer

Our Urban Unit is expanding! We're looking for a talented Urban Designer to join our team in Amsterdam.

As an international architectural firm, UNStudio is active in the broadest fields of architecture and urban design. Our project portfolio covers every aspect of design, ranging from small to large-scale projects, research and theory. The atmosphere within each of our offices is international, multidisciplinary and ambitious, but also open, non-hierarchical, team-based and friendly, with attention to personal well-being, knowledge development and career planning.

We are looking for a Junior Urban Designer to join our Amsterdam office who will participate as a full team member in our Urban Unit. We expect our designer to provide both creative input and solid work production. Tasks include urban scale research and analysis, design tasks on multiple scales, communication and visualization of ideas.

The Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a design discipline (Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture);
  • 1-3 years of experience in a design discipline (Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture)
  • Excellent understanding of the complexity of the urban scale and masterplanning
  • Excellent understanding of the complexity of the urban scale and master planning
  • Able to work efficiently with a large team of designers in a collaborative and creative environment but also steer the design process of small teams of junior designers and interns.
  • Software required: Rhino, Adobe Suite (GIS and Grasshopper are a plus)
