The Sustainability Innovations Center of Expertise (CoE) propels UNS toward resilient, human-centered, and future-ready design solutions by offering pioneering research, strategic guidance, and targeted sustainability tools.

The Sustainability Innovations Centre of Expertise leads UNS’ dedication to creating designs that are environmentally responsible and focused on human well-being. Using in-house tools like ‘The Carbon Builder’ and the ‘Human Health & Well-Being Assessment Toolkit’, the Centre supports every stage of the design process. This holistic approach prioritises reducing Whole Life carbon emissions, enhancing occupant health, and adapting designs to changing environmental conditions through climate mitigation and nature-inclusive strategies.

By aligning with global frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement, and certification systems like BREEAM, WELL, and LEED, UNS ensures its designs address critical environmental challenges while fostering healthier, more resilient, and sustainable communities worldwide.
