UNS Celebrates the Opening of New Office in Dubai

UNS is proud to announce the expansion of its presence in the Middle East with the opening of a new satellite office in Dubai. This milestone marks a significant step in UNS’ journey to deepen its engagement with the region and better serve local clients and communities.

The Dubai office, operational since December 20, 2020, is now home to a full-time team dedicated to the Middle East. To celebrate this milestone, UNS hosted a launch event at Collab Space in Dubai during design week, coinciding with the city’s vibrant Expo and a wave of optimism across the region.

Ajran Pit, Managing Director MEA, shared his excitement at the event: “We took the opportunity now, during design week, Expo, and catching the optimistic wave overall in Dubai and beyond, to celebrate this milestone with all of you.”

The Middle East is a region defined by its dynamism, innovation, and ambition. Ajran Pit highlighted UNS’s vision for the region: “The Middle East is a dynamic, constantly innovating, and ambitious part of the world. Looking close to home, with Dubai as a research subject, a narrative was established around several interventions, typologies, and targets. We are here in the Middle East to engage in conversations, identify new opportunities, and collaborate with specialists, suppliers, authorities, and developers. Our goal is to steer towards the design of sustainable buildings and places, regenerate underperforming built environments, and create healthy, engaged communities.”

The opening of the Dubai office reflects UNS’ growing portfolio in the region. In Dubai, the Wasl Tower, featuring the world’s tallest ceramic facade, is currently under construction. Additionally, UNS recently completed work on the Doha Metro Network in Qatar, further solidifying its presence in the Middle East.

As part of UNS’ global network, the Dubai office will serve as a hub for the Middle East, sharing expertise and exchanging knowledge with other UNS offices to form the best teams for each project. While Amsterdam remains the headquarters, the Dubai office strengthens UNS’ ability to respond to local demand with tailored solutions, supported by the resources and expertise of its international network.

Since its founding in 1988 as Van Berkel and Bos, UNS has grown into a global practice with a reputation for designing spaces that prioritise people and the planet. From the opening of its first office in Amsterdam to the establishment of offices in Shanghai (2008), Hong Kong (2014), Frankfurt (2019), and now Dubai, UNS continues to expand its reach and impact.

The opening of the Dubai office marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for UNS in the Middle East, as we continue to design for a better, more sustainable future.
