UNS Joins EU-Funded BIM-SPEED Project

UNS is proud to be part of the 22-partner consortium, led by TU Berlin, participating in the European Union-funded BIM-SPEED project. This ambitious initiative aims to develop advanced BIM tools for renovation, hosted on a cloud platform, to revolutionize the way we approach building information modeling.

Filippo Lodi, Director and Senior Architect, and Harlen Miller, Senior Architect, represented UNS at the project’s kick-off meeting, held on November 29-30 in Brussels.

Over the course of this four-year project, the consortium will test and refine these tools through 12 demonstration cases, working closely with the businesses and professionals who will use them in the future.

One of the project’s key objectives is to move beyond traditional ‘2D’ design and existing forms of building documentation, advancing toward ‘10D’ design. This next-generation approach transforms a building information model into a district information model, enabling a more comprehensive and integrated understanding of urban environments.

The BIM-SPEED project represents a collaborative effort to push the boundaries of what BIM can achieve, with a focus on creating tools that are not only innovative but also practical and scalable. By working alongside industry leaders and academic institutions, UNS is contributing to a future where BIM plays a central role in sustainable and efficient renovation practices.
