The three design-driven studios are heading to Copenhagen, and they are bringing something worth seeing.
UNS/Ben van Berkel is presenting ‘Gradas’ at this year's 3DaysofDesign alongside Spanish furniture company Sancal, and also sharing three custom knitted fabrics with Amsterdam-based textile innovation company BYBORRE. Sancal creates furniture that blends contemporary and timeless design with a genuine belief that good design should bring joy. BYBORRE produces advanced knitted textiles on reprogrammed circular knitting machines, developing high-performance materials for interiors, workspaces, hospitality and beyond.
Gradas is a new architectural seating system designed by UNS for Sancal, and Copenhagen is where it makes its public debut. The full story will follow, but for now, the textiles tell their own.
Working closely with BYBORRE, UNS developed three custom knitted fabrics grounded in research into how materials shape cognition, emotion and wellbeing. Each one responds to a distinct human need.

Ben van Berkel, Founder and Principal Architect, UNS: "Working with Sancal and BYBORRE has been a genuine pleasure. What I value most in this collaboration is how different forms of expertise came together so naturally, from furniture design and textile innovation to our own research into human experience. Gradas is the result of that shared curiosity and ambition."
3DaysofDesign runs from 10 to 12 June at Bredgade 71, 1260, Copenhagen.
