Inspiring people to move differently

Austin Light Rail

2022

Bringing communities together one stop at a time

Austin Light Rail is not just a transit project—it’s a transformative vision for the city’s future, redefining urban mobility through world-class design. Led by Austin Transit Partnership (ATP), the system is designed to connect communities, enhance public spaces, and seamlessly integrate with Austin’s evolving urban fabric. Developed in collaboration with UNS, HKS, and Gehl, the design framework sets the foundation for how the light rail will interact with Austin’s neighbourhoods, prioritising people-first infrastructure and dynamic public spaces.

Project Connect will be transformational for the City of Austin. Austin is a city experiencing rapid change as more and more people are drawn to its high quality of life and vibrant cultural scene. Project Connect will advance this by creating a human-centric transit system that celebrates Austin’s culture, history and diversity, while making the city more accessible for all of its citizens through an efficient and sustainable transportation system. We are thrilled to contribute to the city of Austin in such a meaningful way alongside our partners HKS and Gehl.
