400 Beethovenstraat
2011-2016
:format(webp))
The design of 400 Beethovenstraat in Amsterdam is guided by three themes: the shifting corner, phase changing, and the coming home concept. The shifting corner addresses the urban intersection of Beethovenstraat and Gustav Mahlerlaan by introducing a cantilevered upper volume, creating a dynamic hinge within the urban context. This shift also reveals the building’s internal organisation, interlocking public and private programmes.
