The design for the 40,000-seat Dalian Football Stadium, home to Dalian Shide FC, draws inspiration from the layered structure of the ancient Chinese cuju football. The double-layered roof structure features broad lattice bands with openings that provide views both into and out of the stadium, creating a connection between the spectators, the public realm, and the urban context.
