The VR experience allowed visitors to navigate through future work environments, showcasing the interaction between furniture, people, and urban planning. By integrating VR, the project aimed to simplify the design process, providing a tangible sense of scale and enabling clients to visualise spaces from every angle. This approach highlighted the potential of VR to transform the concept-to-creation process, fostering inspiring and functional workplaces.
Visitors could experience PROOFF’s iconic furniture, including the EarChair, WorkSofa, Niche, and OffSize, within the virtual workspace. The exhibition emphasised the importance of context and interaction, moving beyond furniture to address the broader dynamics of the working environment.
PROOFF’s collaboration with Ben van Berkel leveraged his expertise in architecture and design, creating a VR space free from traditional design constraints. This partnership explored the evolving needs of the next generation of workers and the impact on workspace and furniture design.
Since its inception in 2006, PROOFF has developed furniture concepts that address new ways of working, focusing on privacy, acoustics, and well-being in open workspaces. By embracing VR and innovative design, PROOFF continues to shape the progressive office, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and adaptability in the workplace.
