A diagonal subway access tunnel shapes the site’s layout, influencing the grid, retail distribution, and pedestrian flow. This axis forms a leisure boulevard with outdoor seating, performances, and kiosks, creating an active connection between the tower and pavilions. Inspired by traditional Chinese urban networks, the design fosters a village-like retail experience with dynamic public street life.
The facades highlight the buildings as distinct objects. The tower’s curved geometry and vertical lines are complemented by unitised facade components with integrated shading, offering flexibility and enhancing its form. The pavilions use semi-unitised systems with prefabricated elements, scaled to their proportions. Retail facades maximise transparency, showcasing shopfronts and contributing to the lively atmosphere of this urban hub.
