Het Valkhof Museum

1995 - 1999

Museum Het Valkhof in Nijmegen is designed as a hybrid space, combining elements of a museum, social meeting place, and technical infrastructure. Two main structures define the design: the staircase and the ceiling. The staircase begins at the square outside and extends to the upper balcony zone, serving as both the structural core and a distributor to key programme areas, including the cafe, library, and central hall. The ceiling integrates installations for lighting and climate control, with its undulating form responding to visitor movement and technical requirements.
