The design embraces Hangzhou’s cultural heritage with a flowing glass curtain facade that creates a welcoming gesture, while the site’s layout maximises views, natural landscaping, and public spaces, making it a hub for both locals and international visitors. At the core of the design is a translucent canopy that connects the towers and creates a comfortable micro-environment for social interaction. The canopy integrates with the glass curtain walls to provide natural light while vertical fins reduce solar heat.
The lower volumes, inspired by the ancient Liangzhu village, house a conference center, hotel ballroom, art museum, and commercial units, fostering a human-centric community. The "Urban Living Room" serves as a cultural and social incubator, blending plazas, roof gardens, and semi-outdoor spaces to encourage interaction and innovation. This integration of architecture, nature, and culture establishes the Hiwell Amber Centre as a landmark of inclusivity and modern urban design.
