The vision for Knowledge Mile Park Bridge in Amsterdam is designed to provide a safe and ecological connection between the two sides of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) campus, which is currently divided by the busy Wibautstraat dual carriageway. The bridge, constructed entirely from wood, serves as more than just a crossing – it is envisioned as a social and climate-neutral space for relaxation, events, and interaction among students, local residents, and visitors.

The elevated footpath and park aim to symbolize the connection between the divided campus while creating a central, accessible hub for the HvA community. As part of the Knowledge Mile Park, the bridge integrates ecological and social functions, offering a living lab for experimentation and collaboration, and becoming a key feature of the university’s urban environment.
