LabQ is more than a workspace, it's a dynamic environment that fosters collaboration and innovation, serving as a beacon for the latest advancements in quantum computing. The design takes inspiration from the quantum "Qubit," integrating two grid systems to create a layout that transforms circulation spaces into functional meeting zones, breakout areas, and study spaces. This approach supports neurodiverse working and learning styles, while the building's sustainable features, such as solar chimneys, a sawtooth facade with vacuum glass, and hybrid timber construction, aim for energy-plus performance. The quantum laboratories, highlighted in phthalocyanine blue to symbolise their advanced function, are showcased through the transparent facade, turning LabQ into a striking "jewel box" that reflects its innovative purpose and connects it to the surrounding campus.
