The design carefully considers the importance of both privacy and social interaction. Spaces such as the atrium, ‘cocoons’, courtyard garden, pantry, corridors, family areas, and patient rooms are tailored to accommodate a range of needs from private moments to social engagement. The ‘cocoons’ in the atrium offer secluded spaces, while the pantries and corridor zones encourage informal interactions. This thoughtful layering of spaces creates a gentle transition between the outside world and the patient’s private environment.
The atrium, accessible across multiple floors, features a semi-enclosed roof garden and wooden slats that provide warmth and privacy. Patient rooms are divided into three zones: nursing, patient, and family. The nursing zone is easily accessible, while the patient zone includes a ‘canopy bed’ with integrated facilities to enhance comfort and security. The family zone ensures loved ones can remain close, offering emotional support.
This design fosters a sense of security, connection, and well-being, creating a supportive environment for both recovery and care.
