The building volumes are arranged radially around a central plaza, which acts as an urban foyer connecting the lobbies of all centres. This plaza is designed as a bright, spacious area for year-round activities such as exhibitions, art fairs, and performances. A shared roof unites the volumes, symbolising the collective spirit of the centres.
The Art Gallery features flexible exhibition spaces organised around a central void, with natural daylight filtering through the ceiling. The Art Communication Centre includes artist residencies and a 500-seat auditorium, while the Art Education Centre houses semi-public zones, classrooms, and study rooms. The Art Auction Centre provides a welcoming space for showcasing and selling art, and the Experimental Art Centre offers open, interactive spaces that connect to the plaza and surrounding landscape.
The roof pattern resembles a fading brush stroke, using shaded GRC panels and tinted glass. The landscape design connects the museum to Green Dragon Park, blending artificial and natural elements. Waterways link the site, collecting rainwater and guiding visitors with unique water features near entrances. The museum embodies a balance of functionality, flexibility, and connection to its urban and natural surroundings.
