A centralised entrance and vertical foyer form the heart of the building, connecting its functions and identities. The foyer, inspired by the existing structure, is open and light-filled, merging with the park landscape and facilitating social interaction. The extension’s compact design superimposes functions, with the theatre above and the expo hall at ground level, reducing energy use and maintaining a dynamic internal organisation.

The vertical foyer provides access to the amphitheatre, meeting rooms, and a public roof garden, where the Café des Congrès offers views of the park. Integrated patios bring light and sightlines into the building, while the park landscape extends the city’s green spaces, enhancing the area’s public character. The design balances functionality, sustainability, and accessibility, creating a contemporary addition to Strasbourg’s architectural heritage.
