Our design for the POSCO residential development introduces the ‘Iron Landscape,’ a concept connecting the steelworks’ technology and materials with the local community to build employee pride.
Strategic massing maximizes open public space, daylight, and views. A connected podium provides amenities and a visual link to the surrounding public areas while maintaining resident privacy.
Facing the Hyeongsan River, the building’s facade creates a wave-like effect using steel cladding and colors inspired by the POSCO blast furnace. Varied tower heights create a dynamic skyline reflecting the industrial complex, with a three-dimensional appearance that changes with the viewing angle.
Internally, modular residential units provide optimal living environments with flexible layouts designed for POSCO’s young workforce. This modular approach ensures structural rationality and cost efficiency.
The lower levels open to the city, featuring a steel gallery, library, and brand store that showcase POSCO's legacy. Above the podium, dedicated residential communities secure views of the river and the steelworks.
The project embodies POSCO's technological spirit, creating an efficient building that relates to the city and surrounding nature, and becomes a symbol of pride for its residents.
