The Qingdao World Horticultural Expo 2014 Theme Pavilion, spanning 28,000 square metres, serves as the main Expo hall, grand performance hall, conference centre, and media centre. Inspired by the Chinese rose, Qingdao’s city flower, the pavilion’s design features four interconnected volumes, or ‘petals’, arranged around a central square. This layout creates a dynamic open-air lobby, with walkways offering panoramic views and enhancing wayfinding across the Expo site.
