The pavilion integrates floral garden themes, hosting seasonally programmed activities such as spring flowers, summer shading, autumn fruits, and winter greens. Its facade, constructed from vertically folded aluminium panels, incorporates green, yellow, orange, and blue tones that shift with the viewer’s perspective. Soft coloured lighting ensures a lively backdrop for events, regardless of weather or time of day, while green elements highlight ecological and environmental priorities.
The roof design reflects the surrounding mountain skyline, with landscaped plateaus offering panoramic views and connecting to the broader masterplan. The pavilion’s design combines spatial organisation, user comfort, and sustainability, creating a flexible and engaging experience for the anticipated 15 million visitors. It also serves as a platform for cultural exchange, technological innovation, and horticultural knowledge, contributing to Qingdao’s urban development.
