Internally, two vertical voids shaped as asymmetrical truncated cones allow daylight to enter while maintaining privacy. These voids, along with lift shafts and the facade structure, provide stability, enabling a mostly column-free interior. Shared walkways around the voids improve organisation and reduce circulation space, with laboratories directly accessible from these walkways.

The laboratory accommodates four microbiological levels, with supporting areas on the lower floors and laboratories divided by accessibility and hygiene requirements. A footbridge connects the main entrance on the second floor to the adjacent WMF building, while a ground-level entrance facilitates goods transport. Interior materials and colours are chosen for functionality, with polyurethane finishes and a gradient of colours from yellow to red across the floors.
