These centers combine inspiring stories, educational content, and hands-on experiences to encourage reflection and exploration. The design draws from traditional Korean Hanok principles, blending the building with its environment through a porous ground floor, horizon-level exhibition spaces, and rooftop terraces that connect visitors to the surrounding orchards and mountains.
The visitor journey begins at the ground floor, where the museum integrates with the gardens and leads to the horizon plane, representing the present. Visitors transition between interior and exterior perspectives, exploring paths of past pioneers and speculative futures. The museum also includes co-working spaces, classrooms, and a lecture theatre to merge learning and collaboration. Sustainability is central to the design, with passive and active strategies tailored to the local climate, such as triangulated roof voids for daylighting and cooling. The museum aims to inspire visitors to embrace a pioneering spirit and connect with nature, leaving with a renewed sense of purpose and agency.
