The National Art Museum of China

2010

The design for the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) in Beijing symbolises Chinese culture and serves as a globally significant museum for the 21st century. Inspired by ancient "stone drums," the two building volumes feature media facades projecting art, reinterpreting the inscriptions of these historical artefacts. The museum’s art collection is likened to the spirit of ink strokes on paper, bringing life to the architecture.
