Wadsworth Atheneum Museum

2000

The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art’s expansion and renovation design focuses on unifying its five buildings, improving accessibility, and enhancing the visitor experience. A new structure replaces the 1969 Goodwin building and Gengras Court, creating a central public concourse that connects the museum’s spaces. This concourse features stepped ramps supported by a cone-shaped light well, linking galleries and providing visual connections throughout.
