Commissioned by K.Wah Group, the project envisions a dynamic waterfront community that blends work, living, and leisure, setting a benchmark for future urban developments in Nanjing and beyond.
Located along Nanjing’s central urban and economic axes, the 10-hectare site is divided into four plots by a central river and planned roadways. The development features high-rise office towers, serviced apartments, a luxury hotel, a headquarters tower, and cultural spaces, forming an urban silhouette that rises from the waterfront. A green corridor weaves through the site, connecting nature with the community and offering spaces for socialising, events, and creativity.
Inspired by the Qinhuai River’s historical communities, the design incorporates low-density podiums and green terraces to create a modern waterfront community that reflects Nanjing’s cultural heritage. The UCCA Centre for Contemporary Art anchors the development, providing a venue for international exhibitions, cultural events, and social activities. Its rhythmic design fosters creativity and togetherness, positioning Nanjing as a global cultural destination.
K.Wah G72 prioritises sustainability and well-being, incorporating natural ventilation, solar photovoltaic panels, and rainwater management systems to reduce energy demands and promote a healthier ecosystem. Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) solutions on roofs and facades meet daily energy needs, while prefabricated components and modular structures enhance efficiency. A multi-layer transportation network, including direct metro connections and pedestrian bridges, promotes walkability and public transport use, aligning with China’s carbon-neutral goals for 2060.
This landmark development redefines urban living, blending culture, sustainability, and connectivity to shape a future-ready community in Nanjing.
