The project preserves and reuses the historic Great Western Hotel, celebrating Melbourne’s heritage while introducing a future-proofed, flexible building designed to adapt to evolving business needs. The design features a central vertical spine that connects the public realm with the building’s interior, offering green and social spaces at both ground and office levels.
Differentiated facade types create a rich, tactile aesthetic, optimizing natural light and energy efficiency. The podium and tower volumes are designed to enhance collaboration and movement, with breakout areas, stair connections, and rooftop terraces. The project also rejuvenates the surrounding laneways and pocket park, creating a porous block with small-scale retail and green spaces. By combining corporate, hospitality, and retail environments, 570 Little Bourke delivers a dynamic, human-centric development that revitalizes the area and sets a new standard for Melbourne’s commercial landscape.
