This project celebrates Busan’s unique identity, drawing inspiration from its rich ecological and cultural heritage to craft a space that is both functional and inspiring. Delving into the details, the design centers around a Public Pedestrian Passageway that links the site to the coastline, fostering connectivity and community. Inspired by the Camellia blossom, the landscape design features overlapping circular canopies and planters that encourage interaction and movement, creating a dynamic public realm. To address Busan’s fluctuating climate, scalloped facade elements mitigate wind effects while adding visual character. Prefabricated modular components, combined with wood-toned ceramic baguettes, create a gradient effect that enhances the connection to nature and emphasises the central plaza. This thoughtful approach ensures a comfortable, engaging, and environmentally driven urban experience.
