By remodeling the facade and activating the podium, the project seeks to create a dynamic hub that bridges the city’s past and future, while prioritising the health and wellbeing of its users. The design introduces a human-centric approach, transforming the tower into a series of stacked blocks framed by a veil-like facade of crafted fins. These fins, which vary in depth and frequency, create a ripple effect that reflects the sea breeze and diffuses sunlight, while shielding the building from environmental conditions and urban noise.
The podium is opened to allow daylight and movement, with its terrace serving as a communal space for work and leisure. The interior glazed skin ensures tenant comfort, with manually operable air hatches for natural ventilation. This flexible and resilient design not only enhances the tower’s connection to its urban and seascape context but also ensures its relevance as a future-proof icon for Piraeus.
