The strategy considers connections at the scale of Lanzarote, the municipality of Yaiza and Playa Blanca itself. Proposed improvements include cycling routes, coastal boat links, clearer road networks and green boulevards that connect inland neighbourhoods to the coast. Bringing the existing villages of Yaiza into a shared growth model would also distribute facilities and destinations beyond the waterfront.
The Paseo is proposed as a stronger public spine, with better pedestrian connections and a wider mix of activities. Natural pools, piers, seating and water-taxi stops would offer new ways to experience the coast. Reconfiguring the harbour would reconnect the Paseo and create a public plaza with shops, restaurants and transport facilities.
Because Playa Blanca’s population and patterns of use change with the seasons, the strategy pairs improved connections with a mix of housing types. Its aim is to support daily life alongside tourism and guide future growth across the municipality.
