The Eastside Mall

The facade features glass, aluminium, and steel plate surfaces, with contrasting materials and finishes such as matte and glossy, rough and smooth. Meandering bands structure the building’s large volume, with a central band splitting and opening the facade to create rhythm and connection with the urban environment. Above and below this band, slat layers resemble venetian blinds, producing a moiré effect that defines the building’s identity. The base area features robust slats aligned with the horizontal structure.

Inside, the meandering motif continues, connecting the two main entrances with a flowing shop street. Contrasting materials, including tactile and reflective surfaces, define the interior design, creating a dynamic interplay of natural and artificial, robust and chic, matte and glossy elements.
